Dream Magic

DREAM MAGIC
by Dawn Harshaw

A fantasy novel about a young boy who battles goblins, learns magic and faces inner demons in a shared lucid dream.

Hoodwinked

Hoodwinked is a truly excellent movie-length cartoon.

After Red, a little girl who is all too fond of her red cape, utters the words "Granny, what bad breath you have!", things go downhill fast: Granny turns out to be a wolf, the real Granny hops out from the closet all tied up, and a few seconds after a raving madman with an axe busts through the window.

The redneck local police and a high-class detective arrive shortly - and everyone has a different story to tell.

Hoodwinked has an amazing story, great character voices (Anne Hathaway, Glenn Close, James Belushi) and good music fitting nicely with the story.

If you know where to look, you might find the animation quality lacking due to a relatively limited budget the movie had, but thankfully the story makes more than up for it.

My favorite characters are Japeth the mountain goat, supposedly cursed to sing when talking, and Twitchy the squirrel with an extraordinary desire for coffee. Hilarious!

After watching Hoodwinked for the first time I was humming "Critters have feelings..." and "37 years ago, a witch done put a spell on me..." for days.

Go watch Hoodwinked!
