The difference which can be made between the terms 'psychic' and 'empath' are the following:

'Psyche' means 'mind'.

Therefore, a psychic is a person who has developed the use of his or her mind to a greater level.

Empathy - feeling.

An empath is person who has developed the use of his/her feelings and emotions to a greater level.

A balanced access to the spiritual realm requires both the mind and the heart:

The heart gives access to the unlimited possibilities, while the mind sorts through them - one wouldn't make much sense without the other.
