Help With Stress

When you are stuck in a situation where you are unable to overcome the problem on your own, the next obvious step is to ask someone for help.

Unfortunately, overcoming individual stress is mostly a solitary problem, not a collective one. Of course, that does not mean others are unable to help, just that you will have to do the bulk of the work on your own. Be careful whom you ask for help: if you ask a stressed out person such as yourself, the answers and support you get probably won't do much good.

Prepare yourself mentally and emotionally for coming changes. If you do that, a person skilled in psychology and stress management can more easily point you in the right direction.

Also prepare yourself for resistance from your social environment. People who have a vested interest in you remaining stressed (boss, colleagues, hostile friends or family members) will discourage you. Others will advise you to keep the status quo and change nothing - simply because they are unable to do so themselves.

Remember, it's your life and it's awfully short to waste!
