I dislike monks. I think they are overpowered and I dislike the style with which they draw out a battle. Monks also help cover up some of the teammates' mistakes (for example, incorrect use of superior runes).
So I made a monk to prove my point to myself.
Attributes:
15 - Divine Favor
16 - Protection Prayers
Skills (from left to right):
1. Reversal of Fortune
2. Guardian
3. Shielding Hands
4. Shield of Regeneration [elite]
5. Resurrection Signet
6. Blessed Aura
7. Divine Spirit
8. Divine Intervention
The weapon of choice is a protection staff with +5 armor and +20% length to enchantments.
The runes are a superior rune of Divine Favor, a superior rune of Protection Prayers, and a superior vigor rune.
The headpiece is +1 protection.
How to play this build:
Cast Blessed Aura on yourself. Run in to the enemy, choose and call a target. Before getting in their aggro circle, cast Shield of Regeneration on yourself and also cast Divine Spirit. Spam away Reversal of Fortune, Guardian, and Shielding Hands for a long time. When Shield of Regeneration or Divine Spirit become available again, use them. If you are low on mana points, cancel Blessed Aura. If the health of both you and another teammate goes down fast, cast Divine Intervention on yourself and heal the teammate.
This is an enchantment build. With the +20% to enchantments weapon piece, the superior runes, and the Blessed Aura skill, your enchantments will be powerful and last for a long while.
Notice that four of the spells are for 5 mana only. With Divine Spirit, you can cast your spells fast and without cost for a long time. Each time you cast a spell, you also heal for 50 health points because of the high Divine Favor attribute.
The -150 health point penalty from the two superior runes won't bother you at all.
If you want to have flawless victories in the 4v4 arena, use this build. (Just remember to stop casting if you have Backfire on you.)
If you wish to use this build outside of the arena, I would recommend replacing the Resurrection Signet with Vengeance (for PvP) or Rebirth (for PvE).
Have fun!
